What's Due this week?
Graphic Design I
Continue work on your posters so we can wrap that up. If you have at least 3 "copies" of existing Swiss style posters, it is time to work on your own poster, using ideas learned from the copies you made. Your poster showcase a real event and its design, color scheme, etc will be relevant to the event. You can Google New Haven events calendar, or just events calendar. There should be a place, time, contact info, name of event, etc. Use a hierarchy of type sizes and be gentle with the use of fancy fonts... that is only use it as the largest type element, say the name of the event.
Graphic Design II
Do you have 2 or 3 covers, 2 or three magazine layouts? If so, then one or two folded tri-fold brochure is due. All set with those? Then a newsletter is the next project... check the syllabus, linked from the blog in the upper right side.
Graphic Design IV
Kaitlin, keep going with your packaging variations. Post a couple here to show everyone what you have been up to.
Post by 9 am Monday morning, March 30. I will use the posts to take attendance from.
Email me with any questions!

Class Meets Here
Welcome Everyone!
Class begins again Monday, March 23rd and runs 5 1/2 more weeks until May 4th.
Class begins again Monday, March 23rd and runs 5 1/2 more weeks until May 4th.
-Read through the class syllabus linked from the list of links in the upper right of the blog.
-Download and Install Photoshop (link in upper right) Use your Albertus credentials to log into the Creative Cloud.
-Watch some of the videos on how to use Photoshop, posted in the syllabus.
-Be sure to check the syllabus each week. It is your road map to the work ahead. I encourage you to redo projects at anytime as there are no strict deadlines on each project. The main thing is to post each week so that I can take attendance. I do take attendance on Monday morning, giving you the week-end to wrap everything up. If you haven't posted anything here for the previous week, I have to submit 2 absences for you.
-I will comment on all posts.. If I use words like "excellent and great", you probably don't need to re do anything... If I make suggestions to improve, the expectation is that you will work on your project some more and resubmit it.
-Remember to also post all of your work to your Google Drive Portfolio.
-Let me know if you have any concerns or if you don't know how to do something. There is a video on how to post to this blog in the list of class links in the upper right hand corner where other important links are located.
-Getting off the ground this week is very important! The class goes by quickly. Any delay in learning to blog, installing your software, etc will set you back quite a bit. There are thousands of tutorials on YouTube on Photoshop as well as the videos I have made for you, linked from the syllabus.
Wanda's Medea copy
A poster by Ruedi Rüegg announcing a performance of "Medea," is part of the university's Swiss poster collection. Rüegg donated 500 posters, which were cited by the Swiss government as excellent examples of good design.
